Business Challenge
This specialized freight trucking organization had an existing Distributor Score card application running on Salesforce that was used to track marketing spend, distributor incentives, and distributor compliance with the client’s marketing programs and training opportunities. The organization wanted to enhance the application to allow for real-time information updates without relying on AJAX updates or page refreshes. They also wanted to move more of the interaction to the front-end of the system, making it more dynamic and responsive for end users.
Solution
Experis Salesforce developers built a solution that improved the users’ experience. To enhance the scorecard application, our developers used a combination of Apex controller enhancement and Visualforce updates with jQuery on the front-end. This made the web page more interactive without adding the slowdowns associated with server round trips. By performing more of the calculations within jQuery, the application became more responsive without significantly impacting the server side of the application. Results
The client received greatly improved feedback from end users about the application’s responsiveness. After the changes, the scorecard loaded 50 percent faster, and the average time to complete a scorecard decreased by 20 percent. By performing more of the calculations within jQuery, the application became more responsive without significantly impacting the server side of the application. To learn how Experis can help with your Enterprise Application needs.
