A major software publisher asked Experis Game Solutions to test a AAA PC game to ensure that various industry applications and hardware were compatible prior to launch. When Experis Game Solutions received the game, it only included the required software needed. What the client did not consider was the number of open programs and applications normally running in the background. Failure to account for these open programs presented a number of potential issues to be resolved before release.
Solution
The Experis Game Solutions team worked to develop a compatibility plan that included various test cases and scenarios. The team performed testing of the title through a small subset of PCs to represent common hardware manufactures with additional software installed. Commonly used applications, such as MS Office, game launchers and web browsers were installed and tested against while running in the background as well as concurrently with other applications.
Results
