For decades, the New York City Department of Sanitation (DSNY) has managed all of its personnel and equipment with the Sanitation Control and Access Network system, known as SCAN. This paperwork-based system involved logbooks, forms and a manual assignment board which limited the flexibility, collaboration, accessibility and security within the organization.
DSNY launched the Sanitation Management Analysis and Resource Tracking System, known as SMART. SMART is a web-based mobile system which provides DSNY management and field forces with digital operation, scheduling and reporting technology, and access to real-time operational information. As SMART becomes fully integrated in DSNY field operations and the old paperwork-based SCAN system fully phases out, DSNY must continue to develop the SMART system to meet the daily needs of the end users.
Solution
In support of DSNY’s goal to fully integrate SMART in DSYN field operations, Experis partnered with DSNY to deliver a next generation web-based sanitation tracking solution that maximizes operation efficiency and enables DSNY to completely phase out the legacy SCAN system. We assembled an agile, innovative, and highly experienced team of individuals with the right talent who understand the unique application challenges and have a proven track record of delivery with NYC. Over the course of engagement sprints, our delivery team successfully:- Leveraged microservices architecture to ensure continuous successful delivery of several complex, independent functionalities
