ManpowerGroup Language Solutions Works with Clients to Evaluate CMS and Adapt Processes to Ensure Maximum Efficiency

For the past 20 years, ManpowerGroup Language Solutions (MGLS) has delivered a variety of translation and localization services to a global wireless technology hardware, software and services company. Technologies have constantly advanced and changed over the years. As a result, MGLS works continuously with its client to adjust and adapt processes and approaches to ensure maximum efficiency and desired outcomes.

Business Challenge

Our client was looking for a content management system (CMS) solution that would introduce cost and time efficiencies into their existing content authoring and localization processes. After the client made its final CMS selection, the MGLS team had to work closely with stakeholders from the CMS publisher and the client’s authoring team to design, configure and adjust the localization process and settings in the CMS.

Solution

MGLS conducted a detailed evaluation of our client’s technical content management and related translation approach in light of the new CMS. This effort resulted in making adjustments to the localization process to introduce cost and time efficiencies for everyone involved, while maintaining or improving output quality. The new process allows management of single-source English content to maximize consistency and eliminates rework at all phases of content development–especially for desktop publishing services outside the system. Under the new approach, the client only submits targeted source-content revisions for translation (instead of re-processing/re-translating all content).

Results

Ultimately, the MGLS team introduced a scalable process to support new or additional content owners and content development teams within our client’s organization.

Through this process, we achieved:

  • Time and cost efficiency goals for translation of revisions and published final output
  • Gradual reduction and ultimate elimination of the client’s (internal) in-country translation review step
  • Cost reductions in desktop publishing and graphics localization
  • MGLS became a preferred provider for this client
