To sell their Compliance and Health & Safety courses worldwide, our client needed to find in-country Subject Matter Experts (SME) with the skills to review and adapt training content to their specific market.
Finding such experts is not simple. The right types of people typically have full-time jobs in their field, so they must be willing to perform our work outside regular business hours. They also must be fluent in English.
Without the SME’s input, we cannot move on with the rest of the complex localization process, which consists of approximately 20 interdependent steps encompassing engineering, translation, imagery adaptation, voiceover recording, quality control and more – all governed by detailed and strict procedures and standards.
Solution
MGLS tapped into its extensive network of ManpowerGroup offices and international partners to find the right candidate SMEs. We validated their experience before submitting their bios for client approval. Once accepted, we trained them on the eLearning localization process. They review the English content (text and imagery) and make recommendations for adaptation to their market, based on their country’s Health & Safety or Compliance regulations, standards, statistics and best practices.
Results
To date we have built a strong team of SMEs in Korea, Brazil, Italy, France, the Netherlands, Germany, Spain and China, earning our status as our client’s go-to, one-stop supplier for these types of eLearning localization requirements.
Our success in sourcing SMEs for Health & Safety and Compliance courses also opened the door for us to provide SMEs in additional subject areas for this client.
