Business Challenge
A large global medical device and pharmaceutical company was looking for solutions to protect data and reduce medical device business risk. The client did not have an internal project team at the time who could work with various asset owners to identify, certify, and remediate assets that lacked data controls.
Solution
Leveraging our extensive experience in managing complex technical projects, Experis:
- Established governance and controls to secure medical device data
- Provided program oversight and leadership
- Enhanced program communication
- Provided business unit remediation oversight
- Delivered implementation accountability for the medical device program
- Conducted gap assessments of current controls
- Developed a controls roadmap and governance plan
The team worked with the stakeholders and cyber security team to create a process to identify network file shares globally.
Results
- Completed assessment and remediation for six unstructured data locations. Prioritized remediation activities for sensitive data located on network file shares and SharePoint sites
- Due to the internal technical limitations of scanning solutions, Experis continues to partner with the client’s Cyber Security team on a strategy to migrate file shares to secure data locations
- Developed a DLP exception request approval process that has been implemented globally
