The Challenge
A major software publisher was experiencing delays in its release deployment cycles due to a heavy dependence on manual testing. As the volume of releases grew, the testing process became increasingly time-consuming, leading to bottlenecks that slowed delivery and impacted overall productivity.
How We Helped
Experis developed a custom application to automate pre-order reauthorization scenarios, which had previously been one of the most time-intensive areas of testing. We also implemented end-to-end regression tests using MABL to further reduce the manual workload for each release.
To enhance the process even further, two additional applications were built. One automated test data creation and the other enabled bulk edits. These tools significantly increased test efficiency and helped standardize quality assurance across releases.
The Impact
Validation time for reauthorization flows was cut by over two hours per release, significantly accelerating deployment timelines.
Testing time for shipped orders was reduced by five minutes each, optimizing the handling of hundreds of orders and saving valuable time.
Overall, manual testing efforts dropped by 70%, greatly enhancing accuracy and boosting efficiency across the board.
The automation strategy delivered strong, measurable results:
- Cut validation time for reauthorization flows by more than two hours per release
- Reduced testing time for shipped orders by five minutes each, improving throughput across hundreds of orders
- Lowered overall manual testing efforts by 70%
- Increased testing accuracy and freed up teams to focus on higher-value tasks
This initiative accelerated release timelines, improved software quality and created a more scalable, efficient testing process.
