Our client, a leading organization in the telecommunications and network services industry, is seeking a Network Operations Engineer to join their team. As a Network Operations Engineer, you will be part of the Network Support Department supporting the technical operations team. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, excellent problem-solving abilities, and a proactive mindset, which will align successfully in the organization.

Location:Salt Lake City, UT - Onsite

What's the Job?

  • Manage and troubleshoot network devices using protocols such as BGP, EIGRP, MPLS, and OSPF to ensure optimal network performance.
  • Perform network traffic discovery by analyzing packet captures and driving issues to resolution.
  • Analyze and troubleshoot L3 private IP MPLS carrier networks, including BGP peering and private WAN topology.
  • Configure and troubleshoot network devices, including routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers, to maintain network stability 24/7.
  • Utilize various networking tools like Splunk, HPNA, Netdisco, Pulse, and others to analyze logs, traffic, and troubleshoot network issues effectively.

What's Needed?

  • Experience with network protocols such as BGP, EIGRP, MPLS, and OSPF.
  • Knowledge of SNMP monitoring tools and network topologies.
  • Ability to troubleshoot hardware issues in data centers, including replacing faulty ports, cables, or modules.
  • Strong understanding of network security and device configuration.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with vendors and technical teams.
