Systems Design Engineer

Our client, a leading organization in data center and hardware solutions, is seeking a dedicated Systems Design Engineer to join their dynamic team. As a Systems Design Engineer, you will be an integral part of the Data Center Platform Engineering Group (DPEG), supporting complex systems and ensuring optimal performance in a demanding on-site environment. The ideal candidate will demonstrate problem-solving expertise, effective communication skills, and a proactive approach to technical challenges, aligning seamlessly with the organization’s commitment to innovation and excellence.

Location: Santa Clara, CA

What's the Job?

• Address complex hardware and software issues in data center environments through ticketing systems such as JIRA.
• Debug and root cause analysis of systems involving CPUs, GPUs, and related hardware components.
• Monitor data center operations for issues like power outages, network disruptions, and cooling leaks, ensuring swift resolution.
• Physically install, replace, and troubleshoot hardware components, including GPUs and server systems.
• Collaborate with vendors, OEMs, and internal teams to communicate issues and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

What's Needed?

• Proven experience working with complex data center systems, including CPU and GPU hardware.
• Strong debugging skills with knowledge of firmware, BIOS, and OS issues, especially related to GPUs.
• Familiarity with ticketing systems such as JIRA and scripting for log analysis and automation.
• Ability to work physically with hardware, including installation and troubleshooting in a lab or data center setting.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team environment.
