Data Foundation Lead

Our client, a leader in scientific and laboratory services, is seeking a Data Foundation Lead to join their team. As a Data Foundation Lead, you will be part of the Data & Analytics department supporting enterprise data ecosystems. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, problem-solving abilities, and a proactive mindset which will align successfully in the organization.

What's the Job?

• Define, design, and govern end-to-end Azure-based data foundation architecture supporting lab and enterprise data ecosystems.
• Integrate lab systems such as LIMS, SDMS, ELN, and scientific instruments into a scalable Azure lakehouse platform.
• Establish data models for lab entities, ensuring data standardization, traceability, and compliance.
• Design ingestion pipelines and transformation frameworks for structured and unstructured scientific data.
• Implement governance, metadata management, and compliance measures using Microsoft Purview and other tools.

What's Needed?

• Hands-on experience with LIMS platforms (e.g., LabWare, STARLIMS, Thermo Fisher).
• Experience with SDMS solutions (e.g., BIOVIA, Waters NuGenesis, LabVantage).
• Strong understanding of laboratory workflows, instrument data formats, and scientific data lifecycle management.
• Proficiency in Azure Data Architecture, including ADLS Gen2, Databricks, Synapse Analytics, and Data Factory.
• Knowledge of governance and data management frameworks, including Microsoft Purview and regulatory compliance standards.
