nder basic supervision of the Network Technician Supervisor, identify, troubleshoot, resolve and maintain computer hardware, software, and peripheral equipment, as well as the data communications equipment within the network infrastructure for the Information Systems Management (ISM) Department. Also has a responsibility to analyze and fix network-related problems reported by users. 
The salary range for this position is $46,600 - $58,325 annually. Placement at any specific point within the stated range is not guaranteed for any candidate. Final compensation will be determined based on the selected candidate's qualifications, experience, and skills, as well as internal equity and organizational considerations.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: 
Education, Training and Experience Guidelines: 
High School Diploma or GED; AND two (2) or more years experience with hardware and software diagnostics and maintenance, within a corporate IT environment; OR Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a closely related field OR an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.  
Required Knowledge of:
Principles and practices of basic network administration, system access, and security procedures; Troubleshooting techniques for PC hardware and productivity software, peripheral devices, WAN/LAN network access, and Windows Domains; Networked computer operating systems, hardware, technologies, topologies, and administration protocols; Networked computer system environments and device capabilities; Maintenance standards for network operating systems and servers, and other software applications unique to PHA departments.
Required Skill in:
Product knowledge and technical skills to install PC components and operating systems; Analyzing basic network problems, evaluating alternatives, and developing solutions based on findings; Maintaining network hardware, switches, routers, and network cabling requirements; Analyzing equipment and system malfunctions, troubleshooting computers and software applications, and determining effective solutions; Troubleshoot network issues quickly by identifying the sources of the problem; Solving technical problems involving multiple operating systems, applications, and platforms; Assessing and prioritizing multiple tasks, projects and demands; Interacting with people of different social, economic, and ethnic backgrounds; Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with co-workers; Operating a personal computer utilizing standard and specialized software; Communicating effectively verbally and in writing.
LICENSE AND CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: 
A valid Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Driver's License may be required.
Professional certifications from an accrediting organization are preferred.  
 

Responsibilities

Maintains the ISM network applications and infrastructure, and verifies the integrity, security, and effective performance of network systems; performs work within scope of authority and training, and according to ISM policies and procedures; duties may vary according to job assignment; Identifies, troubleshoots and resolves hardware-, software- and network-related problems encountered by end users; Configures and installs desktop computers, notebook computers, and mobile devices in response to the demands of a complex network environment; Performs technical work in the operation and maintenance of assigned network systems, computers and peripherals; identifies and resolves application problems; Identifies, defines, and resolves network system problems and user conflicts; installs and configures new hardware and software; monitors and tunes the network for optimal performance; Resolves configuration and connectivity issues, and other network traffic, security, or access problems; Documents all changes; performs backup and restore functions; Maintains work log of service requests, equipment malfunctions, software errors, failures, and technical configurations; identifies and reports trends and technical problems which need to be addressed by improved methodologies, procedures, and policies; Optimizes computer usage by researching and recommending enhancement to system capabilities and performance; Performs basic management of Windows Active Directory domains; Assists with the maintenance of server and storage systems; Enforces technology policies and system controls; Stays abreast of trends and innovations in information systems issues and policies; Maintains absolute confidentiality of work-related issues and PHA information; performs related duties and responsibilities as assigned.
