Role Overview:

We are seeking experienced ATE Test Development Engineers to support mixed-signal IC validation and production test development initiatives. This role will focus on advanced ATE solutions using the Cohu DxV platform, with contributions across multiple programs.
The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in mixed-signal semiconductor testing, deep hands-on experience with Cohu DxV, and the ability to operate across both modern and legacy test systems.

Key Responsibilities:
• Develop, debug, and optimize ATE test programs for mixed-signal ICs
• Lead test development on Cohu DxV platform (primary workhorse ATE system)
• Support validation and production test
• Collaborate with design, validation, and product engineering teams to ensure test coverage and quality
• Perform characterization, correlation, and yield improvement activities
• Support test migration and coexistence between legacy and modern ATE systems
• Develop documentation for test methods, hardware interfaces, and program flows

Required Technical Skills:
ATE Platform Expertise (Critical)
• Strong hands-on experience with Cohu DxV (required)
• Familiarity with multi-site, high-throughput test architectures
• Experience in:
o Test program development and debugging
o Device interface board (DIB) bring-up and validation
o Instrument control (analog/digital resources)
o Test time optimization and parallelism strategies
Expanded: Cohu DxV Experience Expectations
Candidates must demonstrate deep functional and operational knowledge of the Cohu DxV platform, including:
• Test Program Development:
o Writing and optimizing DxV test programs using native development environments
o Implementing complex test flows for mixed-signal devices
o Debugging test failures and improving coverage
• Mixed-Signal Instrumentation Use:
o Configuring and using analog and digital instrument resources
o Handling precision measurements (ADC/DAC validation, voltage/current accuracy)
o Synchronizing digital pattern generation with analog measurements
• Hardware Integration:
o Working with Device Interface Boards (DIBs) and probe/load boards
o Debugging signal integrity and hardware/software interactions
• Production Readiness:
o Optimizing test time and multi-site efficiency
o Supporting yield ramp and production qualification
o Performing correlation between bench, validation systems, and ATE
• Debug & Optimization:
o Root cause analysis of test failures (hardware vs software vs design)
o Improving test robustness and repeatability

IC & Domain Expertise:
• Experience with 16-bit to 32-bit IC architectures
• Strong understanding of mixed-signal systems (Analog + Digital)
• Familiarity with:
o ARM Cortex-M0 or similar embedded processors
o Sensor-integrated ICs (accelerometers, sensing elements)
o Signal acquisition and conditioning circuits
Functional Test Knowledge
• Testing and validation of:
o Pacing engines
o Signal sensing circuits
o Accelerometer-based systems

Additional / Preferred Skills:
• Experience with Credence D10 (legacy ATE systems)
• Ability to work across multiple test platforms and legacy environments
• Background in medical devices or implantable electronics (strong plus)
• Experience with test method migration from legacy to modern ATE systems

Ideal Candidate Profile:
• 4+ years of experience in ATE test development (mixed-signal focus)
• Proven expertise in Cohu DxV platform (must-have)
• Strong problem-solving skills in test/debug/production environments
• Ability to adapt to complex, multi-program semiconductor projects
