Senior Data Engineer (Charlotte or Plano)

Our client, a leading organization in the data and technology sector, is seeking a Senior Data Engineer (Charlotte or Plano) to join their dynamic team. As a Senior Data Engineer (Charlotte or Plano), you will be an integral part of the Data Solutions Department supporting innovative enterprise applications. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong problem-solving skills, excellent communication, and a proactive mindset, which will align successfully within the organization.

Job Title: Senior Data Engineer (Charlotte or Plano)

Location: Charlotte, NC or Plano, TX

Pay Range: $68.26/hour (Plano) / $65.06/hour (Charlotte)

What's the Job?

• Develop and maintain scalable data pipelines (ETL/ELT) for high-volume and complex datasets.
• Build and optimize database schemas, queries, and data models to support operational and analytical workloads.
• Define and implement data models (conceptual, logical, physical) and maintain data standards, relationships, and governance rules.
• Design system and solution architecture including data flows, integration patterns, and API/data interfaces.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless data integration and performance optimization.

What's Needed?

• 6+ years of experience in data engineering and backend/data platform development.
• Strong expertise in data modeling (ER modeling, normalization, dimensional modeling).
• Proficiency in SQL and relational databases such as PostgreSQL, SQL Server, or MySQL.
• Experience building and optimizing data pipelines handling large datasets.
• Knowledge of data governance, lineage, and compliance practices.
