IT Hardware Support Technician – Data Center

Our client, a leading organization in the technology and data management sector, is seeking a IT Hardware Support Technician – Data Center to join their team. As a IT Hardware Support Technician – Data Center, you will be part of the Technical IT Operations supporting the Data Center team. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong attention to detail, effective communication skills, and adaptability, which will align successfully in the organization.

Job Title: IT Hardware Support Technician – Data Center
Location: Boydton, VA
Length: 6-18 Month Contract
Pay Range: $25/hour + Benefits & PTO

What's the Job?

• Support hardware decommissioning, including cable removal and staging
• Perform basic troubleshooting, diagnostics, and equipment replacements
• Monitor systems for equipment failure or performance issues
• Assist with physical audits of data center assets
• Follow detailed procedures for hardware setup, shutdown, and decommissioning under guidance

What's Needed?

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
• 0–2 years of experience in a technical or hardware support role
• Basic knowledge of computer hardware, servers, and components
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Excel, Word)
• Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
