Role Description
• Developed test plans for new processor silicon interface features with a strong focus on power management.
• Wrote comprehensive electrical and functional test plans for processor interface validation.
• Executed electrical and functional test plans for client processors using hardware and software validation tools, oscilloscopes, and logic analyzers.
• Debugged electrical and functional issues for new processors.
• Provided detailed input into platform definition and reviewed platform designs used in the silicon validation of new processors.
• Provided technical guidance and training to engineers and technicians in processor validation planning, testing, and debugging.
• Developed and executed platform-level electrical and functional test plans.
• Performed platform-level electrical characterization of processor I/O interfaces.
• Debugged processor and PC platform I/O interfaces.
• Utilized oscilloscopes, schematics, layout documentation, MS Windows, and Microsoft Office applications to support validation and debug activities.
• Communicated with engineering disciplines and management to support validation activities.
• Applied programming and scripting skills using C/C++ and Python.
• Utilized debug techniques and methodologies to identify and resolve issues.
• Applied knowledge of system architecture, technical debug, and validation strategy.
• Demonstrated strong analytical, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills.
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:
- Bachelors in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering with 2-4 years of related experience;or
- Masters plus at least 2+ years directly related experience (an advanced degree will be considered a plus);Requires experience and demonstrated technical expertise in the development & execution of platform level electrical & functional test plans;
- Platform level electrical characterization experience with processor I/O interfaces is considered, preferred;
- Requires experience and demonstrated technical expertise in the debug of processor & PC platform I/O interfaces.
- Demonstrated experience with or knowledge using oscilloscopes, reading schematics and layout documentation, and MS Windows and Office applications;
- Requires good written and oral communication skills;
- Demonstrate the ability to communicate with a variety of engineering disciplines and management.
