AI-Driven Java Engineer

Sunrise, FL (Hybrid - Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday Onsite)
12+ month contract 

Our client, is seeking two highly motivated Java Engineers to join their Enterprise Identity organization.

This is not a traditional software engineering role.

The team has embraced an AI-first software development model where engineers leverage AI throughout the entire engineering lifecycle—from solution design and development to code review and delivery. Success in this environment requires strong engineering fundamentals, exceptional communication skills, a product-focused mindset, and the ability to effectively collaborate with AI tools to rapidly solve business problems.

The team operates in Agile Scrum pods and is responsible for designing, developing, testing, and delivering highly scalable identity solutions used across the enterprise.

In addition to engineering excellence, this team is actively driving AI adoption across the organization. Several new hires will have opportunities to influence engineering practices and help other teams embrace modern AI-powered development workflows.

What You'll Do

  • Design, develop, and enhance enterprise authentication and authorization services
  • Build scalable Java-based microservices using modern Spring technologies
  • Partner with AI tools throughout the software development lifecycle
  • Create API specifications and service designs using tools such as Swagger/OpenAPI
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, standups, refinements, and retrospectives
  • Review, validate, and improve AI-generated code and technical solutions
  • Develop and execute unit and integration test strategies
  • Collaborate with engineers, architects, product stakeholders, and leadership
  • Contribute to technical design decisions and architecture discussions
  • Help drive modern AI-enabled engineering practices across teams
  • Mentor peers and promote engineering best practices

Required Qualifications

  • 3+ years of Backend Java engineering experience
  • Strong experience with Java 11+ (or newer)
  • AI-First Engineering Experience
  • Proven experience developing microservices using Spring Boot
  • Experience with Spring Data, Hibernate, or similar ORM technologies
  • Strong understanding of software design patterns and engineering best practices
  • Experience working with relational and NoSQL databases
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Experience participating in design and architecture discussions
  • Experience with unit testing frameworks such as:
    • JUnit
    • Mockito
    • Similar testing tools

Portfolio examples, side projects, product launches, and entrepreneurial experience are strongly encouraged.
