Our client is seeking Senior Functional Safety Engineer to join their team. As a Senior Functional Safety Engineer, you will be part of the Safety and Compliance Department supporting cross-functional teams. The ideal candidate will demonstrate analytical thinking, collaboration skills, and a proactive attitude, which will align successfully in the organization.
Job Title: Remote Functional Safety Engineer
Location: Remote (Work from anywhere within the US)
What's the Job?
- Deliver functional safety products in accordance with ISO 26262 Part 5.
- Perform safety analyses including Fault Tree Analysis (FTA), Dependent Failure Analysis (DFA), and Failure Modes, Effects, and Diagnostic Analysis (FMEDA).
- Interpret custom mission profiles and accurately calculate component FIT (Failure in Time) rates.
- Execute FMEDA activities using industry-standard tools such as Ansys Medini or Isograph.
- Support definition and verification of functional safety requirements and safety metrics.
What's Needed?
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical, Electronics, Automotive, Systems, or related discipline).
- 6-8 years of experience in Functional Safety.
- Strong hands-on experience with ISO 26262 functional safety, particularly Part 5 (Hardware Safety).
- Proven experience performing FTA, DFA, and FMEDA.
- Experience calculating reliability metrics and FIT rates based on mission profiles.
