Vehicle Safety Engineer

Our client is seeking a Vehicle Safety Engineer to join their team. As a Passive Safety Performance Engineer, you will be part of the Vehicle Safety Development Department supporting vehicle safety and compliance initiatives. The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills, excellent communication, and organizational abilities, which will align successfully in the organization.

Job Title: Vehicle Safety Engineer

Location: Auburn Hills, Michigan

Pay Range: $24 - $26 / hr. on W2

What's the Job?

• Lead safety development activities for assigned vehicle programs to ensure safety objectives are achieved.
• Support impact script development, identify design enablers, and execute component and full vehicle test plans.
• Influence vehicle design through virtual analysis assessments and physical testing, supporting crash regulatory and third-party ratings.
• Coordinate vehicle integration and validation processes, leading attribute teams and supporting safety technology initiatives.
• Investigate vehicle issues, determine root causes, and lead cross-disciplinary teams to resolve safety-related concerns.

What's Needed?

• Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• At least three years of vehicle development experience and one year of safety development experience.
• Ability to guide vehicle design through virtual and physical testing methods.
• Knowledge of domestic and global vehicle safety regulations and third-party requirements.
• Strong collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams such as Durability, Safety, NVH, and Aero.
