Our client, a leading organization in the financial services industry, is seeking a Database Engineer IV- to join their team. As a Database Engineer IV-, you will be part of the Data Management Department supporting the Database Administration team. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong problem-solving skills, adaptability, and a proactive approach, which will align successfully in the organization.

Job Title:Database Engineer IV-

Location:100 Connell Drive, Berkeley Heights, NJ. Will consider Alpharetta GA and Omaha NE as well. NJ is preferred.

What's the Job?

  • Build and maintain scalable, sharded MongoDB clusters, ensuring high availability and performance.
  • Support migration activities from other database systems to MongoDB, including automation and scripting tasks.
  • Implement and manage sharding strategies, including range-based sharding, to optimize data distribution.
  • Monitor database health, validate configurations, and perform routine validations to ensure optimal operation.
  • Engage with vendors for triage support during migration waves and resolve complex database issues.

What's Needed?

  • At least 5 years of experience in MongoDB administration within an enterprise environment.
  • Proficiency with mongodump, Ops Manager, and scripting for automation purposes.
  • Experience with horizontal scaling, sharding, replication, and database migrations.
  • Knowledge of managing on-premises MongoDB environments and familiarity with Atlas is a big plus.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to work in a team-oriented environment with on-call responsibilities.
