Senior Scientist

Our client, a biotechnology and life sciences organization, is seeking a Senior Scientist to join their team. As a Senior Scientist, you will be part of the laboratory organization supporting physicochemical characterization and protein reagent development across multiple technology platforms. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical problem-solving skills, the ability to independently interpret experimental results, and a collaborative communication style that helps ensure on-time delivery of high-quality characterized materials.

Job Title: Senior Scientist

Location: Lawrence Township, NJ (on 100%) 

Pay Range: $41 to $45 p/h on w-2

What's the Job?

• Design, execute, and analyze LCMS, SEC, and other experiments to assess physicochemical properties of antibody and non-antibody protein reagents.
• Develop, validate, and implement quantitative and qualitative assays using physiochemical methodologies (e.g., LC-MS, SEC-RI, UV-Vis) with minimal guidance.
• Perform method development and refine characterization protocols as needed to support project requirements.
• Interpret results with minimal oversight, plan next steps, compile final data summaries, and present findings to stakeholders.
• Troubleshoot instrument problems and malfunctions with minimal guidance while maintaining required training per BMS standard operating procedures and completing notebooks/documentation per departmental guidelines.

What's Needed?

• Bachelor’s Degree with 3+ years of related industry experience, or Master’s Degree with 1+ years of related industry experience.
• Operational and theoretical understanding of Mass Spectrometry, size exclusion chromatography, and reverse phase chromatography.
• Basic understanding of protein conjugation chemistry (experience is a plus).
• Proficiency in scientific writing and strong verbal communication skills, with the ability to independently interpret and deliver results.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and a consistent approach to troubleshooting and documentation.
