Mainframe Application Lead

Our client is seeking a Mainframe Application Lead to join their team. As a Mainframe Application Lead, you will be part of the technology organization supporting core banking and mainframe application delivery. The ideal candidate will have strong technical leadership, a proactive approach to incident resolution, and clear communication skills that help align stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.

Job Title: Mainframe Application Lead

Location: Atlanta, GA || Vienna, Chicago, IL

Pay Range: $53/hr - $55/hr on W2

What's the Job?

• Direct and oversee technical teams throughout project lifecycles, ensuring delivery aligns with business needs and timelines.
• Utilize expert-level knowledge of FIS Core Banking Systems (RM, GN, IM, AM, SC) for system management and operational support.
• Develop and implement COBOL batch programs for core banking processing, ensuring reliability and maintainability.
• Write EASYTRIEVE programs for data extraction and transformation to support reporting, analysis, and operational workflows.
• Analyze and resolve incidents using a proactive ownership approach, including troubleshooting across relevant mainframe technologies.

What's Needed?

• Extensive knowledge in FIS Core Banking Systems (RM, GN, IM, AM, SC).
• Proficiency in COBOL, DB2, JCL, REXX, EASYTRIEVE, and working knowledge of CICS.
• Proficiency in SQL including embedded SQL in COBOL programs.
• Experience with utilities including DFSORT/SYNCSORT/ICETOOL/IDCAMS/IKJEFT01.
• Experience working with File-AID, SDSF, and ChangeMan, plus strong organizational and detail-oriented skills.
