Job Title:  Equipment / Automation Engineer

Location:  Bellevue, WA

Pay Rate: $120 per hour on Experis W2 | *Not open to C2C engagement

Contract: 6-24 months

What's the Job?

  • Land automated and semi-automated production lines by leading installation and bring-up with the automation integrator, then owning SAT execution and punch-list closure.
  • Own equipment uptime and reliability through preventive maintenance planning, spares management, failure analysis, and fast, hands-on troubleshooting when issues occur.
  • Debug and improve automation controls across PLCs, robotics, motion, machine vision, pneumatics, and safety systems to resolve root causes and prevent repeat downtime.
  • Drive continuous improvement by improving uptime, OEE, and equipment performance over time through upgrades, changes, and structured problem-solving.
  • Maintain accurate documentation including machine specs, electrical/mechanical drawings, spare-parts lists, and PM procedures, while serving as the technical point of contact to the integrator.

What's Needed?

  • B.S. in Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics, or Controls Engineering (or equivalent hands-on experience).
  • 8+ years of hands-on equipment, automation, or controls engineering with direct ownership of automated production equipment.
  • Personal experience commissioning automated lines including SAT, bring-up, and debug while working with integrators or OEMs.
  • Hands-on PLC programming experience with Allen-Bradley and Siemens, including the ability to read, modify, and debug line logic.
  • FANUC robot programming and troubleshooting experience across servo/motion, machine vision, and pneumatics, plus experience with machine safety systems (safety PLCs, robot safety, light curtains/guarding, and LOTO).
  • Previous experience as a Controls Engineer, Equipment Engineer, or Manufacturing Engineer in aerospace or automotive industry preferred

What's in it for me?

  • Own the machines end-to-end—from commissioning with the integrator to long-term uptime, reliability, and continuous improvement.
  • Work on real automated production lines using PLC, robotics, vision, pneumatics, and safety systems.
  • Build lasting impact by improving OEE and equipment performance through upgrades and structured root-cause problem solving.
  • Operate independently on-site with clear technical ownership and accountability for line reliability.
  • Collaborate closely with the automation integrator as the technical point of contact for issues, changes, and support.
