Application Programmer III

Our client, financial technology is seeking a Application Programmer III to join their team. As a Application Programmer III, you will be part of the engineering organization supporting platform and trading systems. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience building and modernizing large-scale distributed eTrading platforms, a deep focus on platform resiliency and observability, and the ability to analyze production incidents to drive strategic architectural improvements.

Pay Range: $65-$68/hr 

What's the Job?

• Lead technology initiatives to improve platform resiliency, recoverability, and fault tolerance across eCredit and Portfolio Trading platforms.
• Design and implement scalable architectures that support growing trading volumes and throughput demands.
• Drive observability improvements through monitoring, telemetry, alerting, distributed tracing, and operational analytics.
• Develop capacity management and performance engineering strategies to proactively identify and address system bottlenecks.
• Modernize platform architecture using cloud-native, event-driven, and automation-first engineering practices, including enhancements to messaging infrastructure and data distribution platforms.

What's Needed?

• 12+ years of experience designing and delivering large-scale distributed eTrading platforms.
• Strong hands-on expertise in Java and Python development within high-performance, mission-critical environments.
• Experience designing and implementing low-latency and Zero-GC architectures, including JVM performance tuning, memory management, and garbage collection optimization.
• Strong knowledge of data structures, data modeling, memory layouts, concurrency, and computer architecture fundamentals.
• Strong expertise in platform resiliency, observability, performance engineering, and scalability, with experience across microservices, APIs, messaging platforms, and event-driven architectures.
