Systems Design Engineer – Data Center / GPU Platforms

Our client, a leading semiconductor and data center technology company, is seeking a Systems Design Engineer – Data Center / GPU Platforms to join their team. As a Systems Design Engineer – Data Center / GPU Platforms, you will be part of the Platform Engineering Department supporting Data Center Infrastructure and Server Platform Teams. The ideal candidate will have strong problem-solving skills, excellent communication skills, and a collaborative mindset, which will align successfully in the organization.

Systems Design Engineer – Data Center / GPU Platforms

Austin, TX (North Austin/Wells Branch/Loop 1 Area) | 100% Onsite
Pay-$60/hour
Duration-12 Month Contract

What's the Job?

• Debug hardware, firmware, BIOS, BMC/IPMI, GPU, and operating system issues on CPU/GPU server platforms.
• Manage and prioritize support requests through JIRA while providing timely updates.
• Install, replace, and cable server hardware components including GPUs, DIMMs, PSUs, and risers.
• Monitor lab and data center environments for power, network, cooling, and operational issues.
• Collaborate with engineering teams, OEMs, ODMs, and vendors to resolve platform-related challenges.

What's Needed?

• Experience working in a data center, server lab, or enterprise server infrastructure environment.
• Strong root-cause analysis and troubleshooting skills across hardware and firmware technologies.
• Proficiency with Linux command-line tools, scripting, and log analysis.
• Familiarity with JIRA and basic scripting using Python or Bash.
• Ability to work onsite full-time and support overtime and travel requirements.
