Automotive Vehicle Operability Engineer

Our client is seeking an Automotive Vehicle Operability Engineer to support fleet operations and vehicle software activities in Auburn Hills, Michigan. In this role, you’ll help keep vehicles performing reliably through software updates, troubleshooting, quality investigations, proving-ground support, and release validation. If you enjoy solving complex technical issues, coordinating deployments, and driving continuous process improvement, this is a great opportunity to contribute directly to fleet readiness and operational success.

Job Title: Automotive Vehicle Operability Engineer

Location: Auburn Hills, MI (Onsite)

Pay Range: $40-45/hr on W2

What's the Job?

• Support day-to-day fleet operations and vehicle software updates, ensuring smooth execution and operational continuity.
• Troubleshoot vehicle software and operational issues, supporting quality investigations and technical root-cause analysis.
• Assist with proving-ground activities and investigations to validate performance and identify underlying causes.
• Support software deployments and release validation, including readiness monitoring and status reporting.
• Escalate issues as needed, follow up on corrective actions, and provide audit support while improving processes.

What's Needed?

• Experience with Fleet Management and supporting fleet operations.
• Hands-on knowledge of OTA Updates and vehicle software update workflows.
• Strong Diagnostics and troubleshooting skills to investigate issues effectively.
• Proficiency with CAN Tools for diagnostics and data-driven troubleshooting.
• Demonstrated ability to perform Troubleshooting, support quality investigations, and contribute to root-cause analysis.
