Laboratory Technician

As a Laboratory Technician, you’ll step into a hands-on analytical chemistry laboratory role where your work directly supports quality control for materials coming from both a factory and a pilot plant. Location: Cottage Grove, Minnesota (100% onsite)
Duration: 6  months

What's the Job?

• Perform and report analytical testing results (primarily viscosity and thermal analysis) for quality control on manufactured products and input raw materials.
• Support continual improvement activities by entering and organizing lab data, maintaining lab spaces through 5S activities, and providing feedback on new processes.
• Follow generally defined procedures and laboratory instructions from lab staff while using self-direction to prioritize short-duration and longer-duration tasks.
• Prioritize incoming testing and continual improvement needs with limited direction in a fast-paced environment.
• Perform minor troubleshooting on equipment and instrumentation to resolve anomalies, and escalate issues for deeper troubleshooting alongside other staff.

What's Needed?

• Good communication skills and the ability to escalate issues as they arise.
• Ability to read and understand written test methods and standard operating procedures.
• Proficiency with Microsoft 365, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and Teams.
• Basic understanding of quality control principles, continual improvement, and 5S.
• Ability to prioritize work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
