Our client, Data & AI Operations is seeking a Data Engineer, NPI Supply Chain - Sunnyvale, CA to join their team. As a Data Engineer, NPI Supply Chain - Sunnyvale, CA, you will be part of the Data Engineering team supporting NPI and supply chain AI workstreams. The ideal candidate will have strong ownership mindset, expert SQL and Python skills, and a proven track record building production-grade data pipelines and quality controls that keep critical datasets reliable.
Job Title: Data Engineer, NPI Supply Chain - Sunnyvale, CA
Location: 50% Onsite Sunnyvale & 50% Remote (Onshore US, hybrid)
Pay Range:$75-90/hr
What's the Job?
- Build and operate production pipelines that land, integrate, and model NPI and supply chain data from source systems including PLM (e.g., Teamcenter), factory MES, forecast/capacity sources, and quality/incident systems.
- Design analytical and AI-ready data models, including conformed dimensions, process-step event models, and reliable joins across program, site, and part.
- Own remediation work from a dataset assessment by fixing broken sources, closing latency gaps, and implementing controls that keep data dependable over time.
- Stand up automated data quality monitoring and alerting aligned to a 7-dimension framework so quality is measured continuously rather than as a one-time check.
- Build and document the APIs/serving layer and access patterns that downstream AI workstreams consume, including pipeline lineage and runbooks for sustainable handover.
What's Needed?
- 5+ years of data engineering experience with production pipeline ownership (not just one-off ETL).
- Expert SQL and strong Python, plus hands-on experience with Spark or Databricks and a modern orchestration framework such as Airflow, Dagster, or similar.
- Dimensional/analytical data modeling experience on operational or manufacturing data.
- Demonstrated supply chain or manufacturing domain knowledge (e.g., BOM, forecast, capacity plan, yield record, inventory position) and the ability to translate business meaning into data requirements.
- Experience integrating enterprise systems via APIs and handling messy, poorly documented source data, including implementing data quality testing and observability in pipelines.
What's in it for me?
- Immediate impact by turning dataset assessment findings into a working data foundation that NPI and supply chain AI workstreams depend on.
- Ownership of pipelines, models, and quality controls—so your work directly improves reliability, latency, and usability of critical datasets.
- Opportunity to build continuous data quality monitoring and alerting aligned to a structured 7-dimension framework.
- Collaboration with workstream DRIs across product change management, capacity, quality, and EOM to translate process requirements into data requirements.
- A clear deliverable focus for an 8-month full-time, hybrid/onshore role with an immediate start and an active Meta laptop/badge strongly preferred.
Upon completion of waiting period consultants are eligible for:
- Medical and Prescription Drug Plans
- Dental Plan
- Vision Plan
- Health Savings Account
- Health Flexible Spending Account
- Dependent Care Flexible Spending Account
- Supplemental Life Insurance
- Short Term and Long Term Disability Insurance
- Business Travel Insurance
