Google Cloud Data Engineer

Our client, is seeking a Google Cloud Data Engineer to join their team. As a Google Cloud Data Engineer, you will be part of the supporting the team. The ideal candidate will have a strong focus on building scalable, secure data pipelines, the ability to design and deliver real-time streaming solutions, and the discipline to document, test, and maintain production-grade software.

Location:Charlotte, NC

Pay Range: $55-$57/hr 

What's the Job?

• Develop scalable, secure data pipelines from on-premise systems of record to Google Cloud Platform services including BigQuery, Dataflow, Pub/Sub, Cloud Storage, Cloud Functions, and Composer.
• Design, code, test, debug, and document solutions for technology domain projects and programs, including upgrades and deployments.
• Build and maintain high-quality, high-performance, scalable software that supports data transformation and delivery.
• Develop transformation libraries in Python/Beam, including common SCD patterns and data quality checks such as masking/tokenization routines.
• Design and develop high-performance Java-based applications, including RESTful APIs and support for microservices architecture.

What's Needed?

• Google Cloud Platform experience with a focus on real-time streaming data processing (e.g., Kafka and/or Google Pub/Sub).
• Strong Java application development experience, including multi-threading, Spring, and SQL (Java 8 or later).
• Hands-on experience building and operating data pipelines and transformation workflows using Python/Beam.
• Familiarity with DevOps tools and CI/CD practices, including Gradle, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, and related build/deployment workflows.
• Ability to document and demonstrate solutions clearly, ensuring maintainability and operational readiness.
