(NO C2C)

Our client is seeking an AI Data Engineer 3 to join a people-centric, culture-first team building modern experiences that help intelligent systems feel clear, trustworthy, and human. From synthetic data generation to scalable backend pipelines and quantitative evaluation, this role is where you can turn engineering rigor into real impact—especially as AI changes what products can do.

Job Title: AI Data Engineer 3

Location: Remote - required to work on PST hours

Pay Range:$70/hr on Experis W2 with Benefits (NO C2C)

Top 3 Must-Have HARD Skills & years of experience for each: 1. Software/backend or data engineering: 5+ years
2. Data generation, ETL & distributed/cloud data pipelines: substantial hands-on experience within that 5+ year background
3. LLM/AI systems: strong working understanding plus experience integrating/evaluating LLM-based workflows.

What's the Job?

  • Design, build, and evolve synthetic data-generation systems that translate structured inputs, persona and organizational context into coherent, traceable, and reproducible datasets.
  • Build and operate scalable pipelines and orchestration, applying concurrency, asynchronous execution, and resilient failure handling to keep workflows dependable.
  • Develop and improve data models, storage approaches, and retrieval patterns to support large data volumes and efficient access.
  • Create and evolve validation frameworks that define quality criteria, automate checks, and use quantitative analysis to measure and improve data quality.
  • Apply cloud engineering practices to deploy, monitor, and support reliable systems—balancing scalability, operational simplicity, and cost.

What's Needed?

  • 5+ years of software or data engineering experience (or equivalent significant experience building systems with coding in languages/frameworks such as Python, Spring Boot, or .NET), with demonstrated ownership through implementation and support.
  • Strong backend and systems engineering skills: designing maintainable services, modular components, APIs, and automated tests.
  • Deep hands-on experience designing, building, and operating data generation, ETL, and distributed data-processing workflows in cloud-based pipelines.
  • Strong working understanding of LLMs: capabilities, limitations, common failure modes, and how data quality, prompting, evaluation, and model behavior connect in AI-powered systems.
  • Practical experience with orchestration and execution patterns (concurrency, async execution, streaming/event-driven architectures) plus recovery from failures.

What's in it for me?

  • Work at the intersection of AI, synthetic data, backend engineering, and product experimentation, helping enable future M365 Copilot experiences.
  • Own end-to-end technical work—from assessment and design through implementation and ongoing support—so your engineering decisions directly shape outcomes.
  • Build systems that emphasize reliability, reproducibility, and measurable quality, not just throughput.
  • Collaborate closely with engineers, researchers, designers, and product partners to translate evolving requirements into maintainable solutions.
  • Contribute to a team focused on rapid prototyping, model tuning and evaluation, data experiments, and AI-related explorations.
