Sr. Systems Verification and Validation Engineer - Acute Therapies — if you’re motivated by turning requirements into measurable evidence and helping ensure products perform as intended, this role is for you. As a Senior Systems Verification and Validation Engineer on the Acute Therapies V&V team, you’ll help demonstrate that our products meet the needs of clinicians and patients through rigorous, efficient verification and validation. You’ll bring systems thinking, statistical reasoning, and practical test strategy development to clarify ambiguities and translate them into test plans others can follow.
Job Title: Senior Systems Engineer
Location: Plymouth, MN - Onsite Role
Pay Range: $50 to $60 on W2
What's the Job?
- Define and execute test strategies for system-level, integration, and hardware-level testing, supporting an end-to-end verification approach that demonstrates requirements are met.
- Develop and maintain V&V documentation, including verification plans, verification protocols and reports, test method validations, traceability matrices, and risk assessments.
- Use experimental design and statistical reasoning to select appropriate tests, interpret performance results, and support engineering decisions with clear, defensible evidence.
- Establish alternative verification approaches (e.g., inspection, verification via trace, design review, analysis, simulation, and/or automated testing) to reduce manual effort while maintaining regulatory and quality compliance.
- Investigate unexpected results using structured problem-solving, drive defects through resolution and verification, and communicate findings and recommendations to cross-functional teams.
What's Needed?
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent degree earned outside of the United States) in an engineering field with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree in an engineering field with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
- Hands-on experience planning, developing, executing, and documenting verification or validation tests for complex products, with the ability to connect requirements and risks to objective evidence.
- Working knowledge of applied statistics and experimental design, including the ability to justify sampling approaches and explain what test data does and does not establish.
- Experience with complex, electro-mechanical, software-controlled systems, particularly medical devices developed under a quality system.
- Experience using requirements and test-management systems such as DOORS, OpenText ALM, Jama Connect, Polarion, or Codebeamer to create, review, and trace product development content.
What's in it for me?
- Opportunity to deliver verified and validated product evidence that supports clinicians and patients who depend on reliable performance.
- Chance to improve test methods and strengthen test planning and execution through continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ability to apply statistical tools (e.g., DOE, ANOVA, capability analysis) to focus testing where it adds the most value.
- Ownership of defensible documentation and traceability that helps teams make informed engineering decisions.
- Collaborative environment where you can communicate findings clearly, unblock work, and maintain V&V rigor even under challenging schedules.
