The ideal candidate will have strong embedded programming skills in C/C++, practical propulsion controls understanding, and the ability to troubleshoot across application software, AUTOSAR runtime environment, basic software, CAN communications, ECU hardware interfaces, and calibration.

Job Title: Automotive Embedded Engineer

Location: Windsor, ON

What's the Job?

  • Develop, modify, integrate, and release prototype embedded control software for engine controllers and hybrid/electrified propulsion supervisory controllers.
  • Translate control concepts, models, functional requirements, and experimental algorithms into executable embedded software.
  • Build software using both hand-coded C/C++ and model-based/autocoded MATLAB/Simulink/Stateflow workflows, including modifying existing Simulink models and supporting artifacts (e.g., data dictionaries).
  • Implement and integrate software within an AUTOSAR-based embedded architecture, including AUTOSAR SWCs, ports/interfaces, runnables, compositions, ARXML, variant management, and RTE generation.
  • Support MIL, HIL, dynamometer, and vehicle software checkout and validation, performing rapid root-cause analysis across software, communications, calibration, and integration issues.

What's Needed?

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, or a closely related engineering discipline.
  • 5+ years of professional experience in automotive embedded controls/software development.
  • Strong embedded programming skills in C/C++ and demonstrated experience developing software for automotive ECUs or comparable real-time embedded systems.
  • Working knowledge of MATLAB, Simulink, and Stateflow, with experience in both hand-coded and model-based/autocoded embedded development.
  • Practical experience with AUTOSAR Classic application software architecture and integration, including SystemDesk, ARXML, AUTOSAR SWCs, and RTE generation/configuration.

What's in it for me?

  • Work on real propulsion control prototypes spanning simulation, HIL, dyno, and vehicle environments.
  • Build end-to-end embedded software that connects application logic, AUTOSAR runtime, communications, and ECU integration.
  • Strengthen your debugging and root-cause analysis skills across ASW/RTE/BSW interfaces and calibration workflows.
  • Collaborate in a fast-paced prototype/R&D environment with controls, software, calibration, validation, and hardware engineers.
  • Apply modern development practices using Git/version-control workflows to manage branches and deliver integration-ready artifacts.
