Job Title: Sr. Manufacturing Engineer
Location: St. Paul, MN
Pay Range: $38/hr. - $42/hr.
Duration: 11+ Month Contract
What's the Job?
- Manage projects that improve manufacturing constraints, including physical space requirements, inbound/outbound material flow, storage needs, and process limitations.
- Drive new product introductions by bridging Manufacturing Engineering and Operations—answering “where do things go,” “how will it be laid out,” and “how will materials flow.”
- Identify and close process-related gaps through CAPAs, Production Excellence improvements, production quality metrics, changeover risk reduction, standard work, and 5S implementation.
- Apply engineering skill sets through Root Cause Problem Solving (RCPS) to production-related challenges that extend beyond product and raw material manufacturing/quality issues.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to improve productivity, quality, process efficiency, space utilization, standardization, and lead time.
What's Needed?
- 3–5+ years of manufacturing engineering experience with strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
- Educational qualifications in Electrical, Mechanical, or another engineering/technical degree (or equivalent experience) aligned with engineering disciplines.
- Demonstrated leadership capability in team settings, with the ability to work effectively in a highly matrixed, fast-paced, and changing environment.
- Strong understanding of Lean and continuous improvement methods, including 5S, time study, capacity modeling, standard work, material flow, value stream mapping, process mapping, and Kaizen events.
- Ability to support and comply with U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations, Quality Management Systems (QMS), Environmental Management Systems (EMS), OSHA-related work environment expectations, and company policies/procedures.
What's in it for me?
- Opportunity to lead meaningful manufacturing improvements that address real operational constraints such as space, material flow, documentation limitations, and process gaps.
- Chance to be a key bridge between Manufacturing Engineering and Operations during aggressive growth and new product introduction initiatives.
- Use RCPS and structured problem-solving approaches to drive sustainable improvements across multiple functions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to strengthen standardization, changeover readiness, and production quality performance.
- Work in a regulated environment where your engineering decisions directly support compliance and continuous improvement.
