Our client is seeking a Technical Product Owner to join their team. As a Technical Product Owner, you will be part of the KFC US Solutions Architecture organization supporting platform capabilities that underpin KFC's digital operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong service orientation, the ability to translate engineering needs into clear backlog items, and a results-focused mindset that drives adoption and measurable outcomes.

Job Title: Technical Product Owner

Location: Louisville, KY (HYBRID: Onsite T and Th)
Duration: 6 months with the possibility of extension/conversion

Pay Range: $63/hr on W2
 

What's the Job?

  • Own and manage the internal developer platform product backlog, translating engineering and internal customer needs into well-defined epics, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
  • Support and contribute to the product roadmap for platform initiatives including CI/CD, infrastructure, observability, and automation tools that enable KFC US digital operations.
  • Track and report product metrics such as adoption, user satisfaction, operational efficiency, and productivity indicators to guide prioritization and continuous improvement.
  • Partner with platform engineering and cross-functional stakeholders to communicate product updates, prioritization decisions, and progress with clarity and consistency.
  • Gather feedback from engineering teams through interviews, surveys, office hours, and ongoing engagement to ensure the platform remains usable, valuable, and aligned to priorities.

What's Needed?

  • 1-2+ years of experience in product management or technical product ownership.
  • ~3 years of experience working on technical products for technical users (engineers, developers, IT teams).
  • Experience owning and managing a product backlog in an Agile environment.
  • Experience with user research, requirements gathering, and translating needs into product deliverables.
  • Familiarity with product metrics and measuring adoption or outcomes, along with strong collaboration skills across engineering and cross-functional teams.
