Engineer - Degreed II

Job Title: Engineer - Degreed II
Location: Abbott Park, IL - 100% Onsite 
Pay Range: $25/hr to $30/hr on W2 

What's the Job?

• Provide hands-on laboratory support to troubleshoot and evaluate complex electromechanical systems used in product development and service engineering activities.
• Diagnose and resolve issues related to printed circuit boards (PCBs), cables, fluidics, mechanical hardware, motors, pumps, valves, and system-level components.
• Use oscilloscopes and other diagnostic tools to identify root causes, execute testing, and analyze results.
• Run system evaluations and design verification testing, then document findings and generate engineering test reports.
• Build, modify, and evaluate prototype fixtures, tools, and breadboard assemblies while maintaining clear technical documentation (procedures, specifications, schematics, and mechanical layouts).

What's Needed?

• 3-5 years of experience; minimum 6 months of hands-on engineering experience gained through professional employment, internships, co-ops, research labs, or academic projects.
• Experience troubleshooting electronic and electromechanical systems, with the ability to independently investigate, diagnose, and resolve technical issues.
• Strong technical documentation and reporting skills, including the ability to produce clear engineering test documentation.
• Comfort working in an engineering laboratory environment and performing repetitive testing activities with attention to detail.
• Ability to read schematics and engineering drawings and apply engineering principles with minimal supervision.
