Our client, technology and aerospace/aviation systems is seeking a Senior Embedded BSP Software Engineer to join their team. As a Senior Embedded BSP Software Engineer, you will be part of the software engineering organization supporting embedded platform and system integration teams. The ideal candidate will have strong embedded Linux/QNX experience, hands-on debugging and performance optimization skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively in Agile/DevOps environments which will align successfully in the organization.

What's the Job?

  • Design, develop, integrate, test, debug, and maintain Kernel and QNX software for next-generation In-Flight Entertainment (IFE) seat boxes.
  • Develop and test high-quality client software applications in embedded systems based on functional and system specifications.
  • Enhance existing software to optimize performance to meet KPIs, improve efficiency, and bolster robustness.
  • Collaborate with hardware, platform software, Android, and system integration/validation teams to enable and support QNX-based platform functionality from bootloader through OS and device driver layers.
  • Own quality through comprehensive test plans and procedures, including functional testing, regression testing, and performance benchmarking, plus rigorous code reviews.

What's Needed?

  • 10+ years of experience in embedded software development, including Linux kernel and/or device driver development, debugging, and testing.
  • Hands-on experience with Board Bring-up and a strong understanding of boot processes and flows.
  • Strong programming skills in C/C++ and Python, with competence in scripting languages for automation and tooling.
  • Knowledge of communication protocols such as UART, SPI, I2C, Ethernet, and USB, plus understanding of TCP/IP and HTTP/HTTPS protocols.
  • Familiarity with QNX Hypervisor and operating system development concepts, including security protocols and updates; experience with test automation tools and techniques; proficiency with Agile methodologies, DevOps practices, and CI/CD pipelines.
