Our clien is seeking a Finance Data Transformation Lead to join their team. As a Finance Data Transformation Lead, you will be part of the Finance Data Modernization initiative supporting cross-functional stakeholders across Finance, Actuarial, Reinsurance, FPA, and IT.

Pay Range: $50 per hour on W2
 

What's the Job?

  • Lead discovery workshops with Finance, Actuarial, Reinsurance, FPA, and IT stakeholders to document the AS-IS reporting and data landscape.
  • Inventory and assess source systems (e.g., GL, EPM, policy admin, claims, actuarial reserving, ceded reinsurance, investments) to evaluate data availability, grain quality, and data ownership.
  • Define KPI and report inventory business definitions, including calculation logic, dimensions, named business owners, and signoff processes.
  • Map critical data elements across a medallion architecture (Bronze, Silver, Gold) including semantic layer alignment and source-to-target field mapping.
  • Act as functional product owner for the Gold and Semantic layers as the engagement moves into build, supporting UAT and self-service testing with business users; contribute to BRDs, functional specifications, assumptions, risks log, and phased roadmap.

What's Needed?

  • Finance transformation experience with a focus on finance data, FPA, controllership, or finance modernization in insurance or reinsurance (consulting or industry).
  • Professional qualification such as CA, CPA, ACCA, CFA, MBA Finance, or equivalent depth; strong working fluency in PC reinsurance finance concepts (e.g., GWPN, WP earned premium, UPR, paid case, IBNR, incurred losses, ALAE/ULAE, ULAE, CAT vs non-CAT, commissions and brokerage, DAC, loss expense, combined ratios, ceded reinsurance technical result).
  • Knowledge of at least one insurance reporting basis (US GAAP, US STAT, NAIC, IFRS 17, or Solvency II) and the ability to understand bridges between them.
  • Hands-on experience with data modeling concepts such as star schemas, conformed dimensions, and semantic modeling; SQL proficiency sufficient to profile data and validate KPI logic independently.
  • Proven ability to run stakeholder workshops and produce client-ready BRDs, KPI catalogs, and architecture narratives; comfort collaborating with data architects and engineering teams.
