Optical Technician

Our client, an optical and manufacturing environment is seeking an Optical Technician to join their team. As an Optical Technician, you will be part of the lab operations team supporting daily production workflows. The ideal candidate will bring a strong focus on quality, the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced setting, and the drive to follow safety and process standards every day.

What's the Job?

  • Under direct supervision, perform a variety of tasks related to daily lab operations and production.
  • Support department functions including Optical Technician (Level 1) tasks such as cosmetic inspection and lens restocking.
  • Perform inventory control activities including assisting with stocking lens shelves, sorting and distributing trays, pulling semi-finished or finished lenses, and staging work in designated areas.
  • Operate lab equipment and assist with production flow, including operating the automatic taper and tinting edged and uncut lenses.
  • Complete expeditor and pre-shipping wash-up functions, including flagging work to move and providing needed masks/cloths as required.

What's Needed?

  • 1 to 2 years of manufacturing, production, or optical tech experience.
  • Demonstrated knowledge, skills, and ability to perform the functions of an Optical Technician (Level 1).
  • Ability to work any shift, time, and day as required by the department.
  • Ability to meet department standards for productivity and quality.
  • Strong communication skills and manual dexterity with good hand/eye coordination; must be able to lift up to 30 pounds and walk or stand 100% of the time.
