Hardware FA Engineer

Our client is seeking a Hardware FA Engineer to join their team. As a Hardware FA Engineer, you will be part of the hardware engineering organization supporting failure analysis and hardware platform quality for networking products. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in hardware board circuit and system design, the ability to troubleshoot complex issues with precision, and the drive to deliver clear, actionable findings that improve reliability.

Location:100% onsite at San Jose, CA

Pay Range: 55-60 W2

What's the Job?

• Perform hardware failure analysis on board-level and system-level designs to identify root causes and contributing factors.
• Design, execute, and document troubleshooting plans using electrical diagnostics and measurement equipment.
• Analyze high-speed signal behavior for SerDes/serial transmission technologies and support validation of signal integrity.
• Use lab instruments and test setups (including oscilloscopes, digital multimeters, logic analyzers, and network traffic generators such as Ixia and Spirent) to reproduce and isolate failures.
• Collaborate with engineering stakeholders to communicate findings, recommend corrective actions, and support hardware improvements.

What's Needed?

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or a related degree.
• 6+ years of experience in hardware board circuit and system design, troubleshooting, or failure analysis.
• Experience designing for high-speed signals using SerDes/serial transmission technologies.
• Experience with electrical diagnostics and measurement equipment, including oscilloscopes, digital multimeters, logic analyzers, and network traffic generators such as Ixia and Spirent.
• Familiarity with control interfaces such as PCIe, MDIO, SPI, and I2C.
