Pay Rate: $55.00 – $65.00/hr W2 (Strictly W2 Only – No C2C, 1099, or Sub-Contracting)

POSITION OVERVIEW

We are seeking a versatile Technical Business Analyst with deep domain expertise in Automated Clearing House (ACH) processing and core banking payment workflows to join an enterprise Payments & Deposits Technology team.

This role requires a balanced 50/50 mix of functional business analysis and technical systems execution. You will serve as the key liaison between product owners, compliance teams, and middleware/backend integration engineers, driving the refinement, technical mapping, and validation of high-volume ACH payment engines, deposits platforms, and transaction processing systems.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Technical Requirement Gathering & Documentation: Partner with business, compliance, and engineering teams to translate complex ACH payment rules, NACHA guidelines, and deposit processing needs into detailed technical user stories, API specifications, and data flow diagrams.

  • Data Mapping & Interface Analysis: Conduct end-to-end data element mapping for ACH file processing (e.g., NACHA file structures, SEC codes, Nacha IATs, ISO 20022 message flows), payment APIs, and core deposit database tables.

  • Technical Systems Validation & SQL Querying: Write and execute intermediate-to-advanced SQL queries across relational databases to analyze payment data, research settlement exceptions, validate transaction states, and support integration testing.

  • Payment Engine & API Collaboration: Work directly with middleware, integration bus (e.g., IBM ACE/MQ), and API developers to define data transformations, payload schemas (JSON/XML), and error-handling protocols for core payment flows.

  • SDLC & Agile Delivery: Active participation in Agile/Scrum sprint ceremonies, grooming backlogs, defining acceptance criteria, and supporting UAT/production checkout for high-priority payment releases.

REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Domain Expertise (Must-Have): 3+ years of direct experience working within ACH (Automated Clearing House), NACHA rules, core deposit systems, or enterprise payment processing architectures.

  • Technical Capabilities: Proven experience conducting data mapping, reading API endpoints (REST/SOAP, JSON/XML), and executing SQL queries for data analysis and database validation.

  • Role Balance: Demonstrated ability to operate comfortably in a hybrid 50% functional / 50% technical capacity—communicating effectively with both business executives and backend integration engineers.

  • Tools & Methodologies: Hands-on experience in Agile environments utilizing Jira, Confluence, and standard SDLC delivery framework tools.

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, Finance, or equivalent work experience.

WORKING CONDITIONS & ELIGIBILITY

  • Work Arrangement: Hybrid schedule in Charlotte, NC (2–3 days onsite per week).

  • Employment Type: Direct W2 Contract only (C2C, 1099, and referrals are strictly prohibited).
