QA Analyst III

Our technology client is seeking a QA Analyst 3 to join their team. As a QA Analyst 3, you will be part of the QA department supporting our technology client.

Pay Range: $62-$67/hr w2 

What’s the Job?

As an QA Contractor, you will play a key role in ensuring product quality by executing and improving test processes, collaborating with engineering and QA leads, and supporting the delivery of high-quality features. This role is designed for individuals who can operate independently, contribute to test strategy, and take ownership of execution within defined scopes.
Responsibilities

• Execute manual and automated test cases for new and existing features.
• Reproduce, document, and triage bugs; work closely with engineering to drive resolution.
• Write and maintain clear, comprehensive test cases and test plans.
• Support QA leads in driving test strategy and test plan creation.
• Create and maintain dashboards to track quality metrics and test progress.
• Conduct Product Audits with QA leads’ guidance to analyze/improve QA test coverage.
• Conduct Bug Audits with QA leads’ guidance to analyse/identify product areas that need improvement
• Provide Release readiness support for Medium/small size features.
• Lead test execution for small to medium-sized projects or features.
• Attend status meetings and represent QA in the absence of QA leads. 
• Work onsite as needed to collaborate directly with engineering and QA teams, ensuring product rigor.
• Support stealth projects which require a higher level of diligence in execution. 
• Support safety and model testing, including scenarios that may expose testers to unsafe content.
• Run and lead innovative testing techniques like benchmarking testing, battery testing

Qualifications 

• 5+ years of experience in software quality assurance or a related field. 
• Strong understanding of QA methodologies, tools, and processes. 
• Experience writing and executing test cases and test plans. 
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills. 
• Ability to work independently and take initiative in a fast-paced environment. 
• Experience with dashboarding tools and quality metrics is a plus. 
• Comfortable working onsite and engaging directly with cross-functional teams. 
• Familiarity with python, javascript, SQL

Surrounding team & key projects
The team is the Whatsapp engineering + QA partner team responsible for testing and quality coverage for the Whatsapp app—mainly new feature testing, smoke/regression for releases, and bug triage, working closely with Whatsapp product/engineering (and sometimes Trust & Safety depending on the work) 
This role supports the Whatsapp app by owning QA for new feature launches and ongoing regression/smoke coverage, partnering closely with Whatsapp Product/Growth/T&S teams to help ship quickly without quality regressions.
Typical Day-to-Day in the role

• QA testing of new Whatsapp features/concepts (end-to-end + regression) 
• Automation-focused testing and maintaining/expanding automated coverage 
• Reviewing/reading code to understand changes and support debugging 
• Benchmarking / quality measurement to validate performance and detect regressions 
• Using AI agents/tools to speed up bug triage and support bug fixes 
• Owning complex test setup independently (reduce dependency on engineers)
• Cross-timezone coordination with offshore teams (India/Mexico); occasional off-hours/overtime as needed

How will performance be measured?

• Quality outcomes: # of valid bugs found, severity/launch-blocker catches, and fix follow-through
• Execution: on-time test coverage for releases, strong triage/communication, minimal testing slippage
• Independence/technical depth: can set up complex tests, read/debug issues in code, and reduce dependency on engineers
• Collaboration: effective coordination with offshore teams and clear status updates

Degrees/certifications required? Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering or relevant field required.

• Purely manual QA profiles with little/no technical depth (can’t read code, weak debugging/triage skills, no automation awareness).
• Candidates who need heavy direction / aren’t comfortable being a self-starter (this team wants someone who can run complex testing with less engineering dependency).
• Folks with experience mainly in low-scale / slow-release environments who haven’t worked with fast iteration, frequent releases, and tight timelines.
• Candidates who struggle with cross-timezone collaboration or have no flexibility for occasional early/late coordination with offshore teams.
• Candidates who are uncomfortable working with new/homegrown tools or adopting AI-assisted workflows (the role expects comfort learning and using these).
