Manufacturing Process Engineer

Our client, a regulated manufacturing organization focused on medical device production, is seeking a Development Process Engineer to join their team. As a Development Process Engineer, you will be part of the Engineering organization supporting the Manufacturing Development and Process Improvement team. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical problem-solving skills, a drive for continuous improvement, and the ability to communicate clearly across cross-functional partners—skills that will help you design, validate, and scale reliable manufacturing processes.

Job Title: Development Process Engineer

Location: Saint Paul, MN. Onsite

Duration: 6 Months contract with possible extension

Pay Range: $29/hr on w2

What's the Job?

• Lead the design, development, and implementation of new manufacturing processes and equipment to support production and process improvements.
• Specify, acquire, and validate new equipment, ensuring readiness for production and alignment with quality and safety expectations.
• Use structured problem-solving and root cause analysis to identify process issues and develop corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs).
• Design and execute experiments (DOE), analyze results, and present findings to cross-functional teams to drive measurable improvements.
• Create and maintain technical documentation, including SOPs, risk assessments, validation protocols, and safety instructions, while ensuring compliance with internal quality systems and external regulatory requirements.

What's Needed?

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical, Biomedical, Chemical, or related field) with 2–5+ years of relevant experience OR a master’s degree with 0–2 years of experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a structured approach to root cause analysis.
• Proficiency in technical writing and documentation to support SOPs, validation, and risk documentation.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Working knowledge of manufacturing systems, automation, and process control, with the ability to apply that knowledge to process development and improvement.
