Our client is seeking an Exchange Online Administrator / Service Engineer to join their team. As an Exchange Online Administrator / Service Engineer, you will be part of the Microsoft 365 operations group supporting secure, highly available, and well-governed messaging services. The ideal candidate will bring hands-on Exchange Online service engineering expertise, strong troubleshooting and incident support skills, and a security-first mindset that aligns with Microsoft 365 identity and compliance practices.

Location: Seattle WA 98109 (Onsite: 1–2 days)

Pay Range:$60-65/hr 
 

What's the Job?

  • Design, implement, configure, and administer Microsoft Exchange Online services within the Microsoft 365 environment.
  • Provide L3/SME-level service engineering for Exchange Online issues, incidents, and complex service requests.
  • Engineer and manage Exchange Online configuration, including mail flow, transport rules, connectors, accepted/remote domains, distribution groups, shared mailboxes, resource mailboxes, retention and mailbox policies, and permissions/delegation.
  • Implement Exchange Online security controls, including anti-spam/anti-phishing, Microsoft Defender for Office 365 integration, Safe Links and Safe Attachments, impersonation and spoofing protection, mail flow security, authentication/modern authentication controls, and SPF/DKIM/DMARC.
  • Monitor service health and message flow, troubleshoot complex delivery/authentication issues, and collaborate with Microsoft support on complex incidents and product-related issues.

What's Needed?

  • Strong hands-on experience in Exchange Online service engineering, including tenant-level configuration, migrations, and advanced troubleshooting.
  • Experience with Exchange Online security implementation and operational support across the Exchange Online platform.
  • Ability to lead or participate in security implementation projects and implement Microsoft 365 security and compliance controls in partnership with security and compliance teams.
  • Proficiency in developing operational procedures, technical documentation, runbooks, and knowledge articles, and supporting change management through planning, testing, and production deployment.
  • Experience monitoring Exchange Online service health, security events, and operational performance; plus collaboration with cross-functional teams such as Microsoft 365, Identity & Access Management, Security, Compliance, Network, and Infrastructure.
