Platform Engineer/Architect

Our client, a financial services technology organization supporting an Open Banking platform, is seeking a Platform Engineer/Architect to join their team. As a Platform Engineer/Architect, you will be part of the engineering organization supporting platform-wide development and technical alignment across multiple teams. The ideal candidate will have strong communication and collaboration, a hands-on mindset, and the ability to think beyond a single application to shape consistent platform direction.

Job Title:Platform Engineer/Architect

Location:Charlotte, North Carolina (Hybrid: 3 days onsite)

What's the Job?

• Act as an internal architect and technical resource to guide Open Banking platform direction and maintain consistency across multiple development teams.
• Support inbound and outbound Open Banking connections, with a focus on API and integration work across enterprise systems.
• Collaborate with teams to design and evolve platform capabilities, ensuring solutions align with broader technical standards and long-term strategy.
• Work through complex technical problems, ask clarifying questions when requirements are unclear, and help teams reach practical, well-reasoned outcomes.
• Partner with technical stakeholders to ensure platform-wide technical direction is understood, implemented, and continuously improved.

What's Needed?

• Strong Java development background with experience building and supporting enterprise applications.
• Experience moving toward Software Architecture and/or Solution Architecture responsibilities.
• Strong understanding of APIs, integrations, and enterprise application platforms.
• Ability to think beyond an individual application and understand platform-wide technical direction.
• Experience working across multiple development teams, with strong communication and collaboration skills.
