Supplier Quality Engineer

Our client is seeking a Quality Engineer to join their team. As a Quality Engineer, you will be part of the BCI (Body, Chassis, Interior) Quality Team supporting supplier compliance and launch readiness. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical problem-solving skills, the ability to drive cross-functional action plans, and a commitment to quality at launch—which will align successfully in the organization.

Pay Range: 28-32 W2

What's the Job?

• Own the compliance and quality of BCI parts and assemblies to ensure project quality targets are met.
• Approve APQP/PPAP deliverables and ensure the application of all BCI compliant processes.
• Lead supplier quality reviews to confirm compliance actions are consistent with vehicle quality expectations.
• Drive issue resolution by proposing pilots, managing escalation based on BCI business criteria, and leading coaching for strategic suppliers on complaint execution and issue resolution.
• Ensure root cause analysis, manage change requests, and maintain measured data integrity by correlating measurements to KPIs to support 100% quality at launch.

What's Needed?

• Minimum of a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or equivalent such as Materials/Chemical/Civil/Aerospace) from an ABET accredited university.
• Experience in automotive areas including Product Engineering, Manufacturing, Supplier Quality, and/or Product Quality.
• Knowledge of APQP/PPAP and the Supplier Quality Manual, including defect resolution, escalation processes, and follow-up.
• Statistical data analysis and metrology principles, including Root Cause Analysis methods and understanding of statistical analysis and process control.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams, including understanding of vehicle design, assembly, process control, tooling, and in-plant processes (including vehicle chassis/suspensions systems).
