Data Center Migration Engineer

Our client, a technology-focused organization, is seeking an Engineer to join their team. As an Engineer, you will be part of the IT engineering organization supporting infrastructure and application continuity. The ideal candidate will bring strong problem-solving skills, a collaborative mindset, and the ability to execute migration work with careful attention to risk and quality.

Job Title: Data Center Migration Engineer

Location: Charlotte, NC. Hybrid (3 days onsite per week)

Pay Range: $55/hr on w2

What's the Job?

• Provide technical solutions across systems, applications, or infrastructure by analyzing issues and developing practical resolutions.
• Support the Data Center Exit program by contributing engineering capacity across both the Storage and Compute/Virtualization workstreams.
• Assist with storage migrations, server migrations, and virtual machine migrations, including environment build activities.
• Participate in testing, cutover execution, post-migration validation, and decommissioning activities to support business continuity.
• Coordinate closely with application, infrastructure, and business teams to minimize operational risk during migration activities.

What's Needed?

• Relevant technical background with the ability to troubleshoot, analyze, and resolve complex infrastructure and systems issues.
• Experience or familiarity with migration execution, including testing, cutover, validation, and decommissioning processes.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail to support accurate, reliable migration outcomes.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including application and infrastructure stakeholders.
• Willingness to support migration and cutover activities that may occur during evenings and weekends to avoid disruption to production services.
