Data Engineer

Our client, a leading global financial services organization, is seeking a Data Engineer to join their Data Strategy team. As a Data Engineer, you will support the development of a strategic data platform across client Securities Group. The ideal candidate will have strong technical problem-solving skills, collaboration abilities, and hands-on data engineering expertise.

Location: Charlotte, NC 

What’s the Job?

• Design and develop a strategic Azure-based data platform supporting multiple data domains.
• Build data pipelines and solutions using Python, PySpark, Azure Databricks, and Azure Data Factory.
• Develop the initial securities reference data and pricing data platform and expand into additional data domains.
• Develop and integrate APIs using Python/FastAPI and Azure services.
• Collaborate with Data Strategy, Capital Markets, and technology teams while following established development standards.

What’s Needed?

• 10+ years of Data Engineering/software development experience with strong Python and PySpark skills.
• Hands-on experience with Azure, Azure Data Factory, ADLS Gen2, Azure Databricks, Azure databases, and Microsoft Fabric.
• Strong SQL, ETL/ELT, data pipeline, and data platform development experience.
• Experience developing APIs using FastAPI or similar Python frameworks, along with Azure Functions/API Gateway.
• Experience with Git, Jenkins, CI/CD, DevOps, and preferably financial services, securities, market data, or financial instruments.
