Senior Threat Detection Engineer

Our client is seeking a dedicated and innovative Senior Threat Detection Engineer to join their dynamic team. As a Senior Threat Detection Engineer, you will be an integral part of the Security Operations and Cyber Defense teams, supporting the development and enhancement of enterprise threat detection capabilities. The ideal candidate will demonstrate analytical thinking, collaborative spirit, and a proactive approach to cybersecurity challenges, aligning seamlessly with the organization’s mission to safeguard digital assets and advance security measures.

Job Title: Senior Threat Detection Engineer

Location:New York, NY or Pittsburgh, PA (ON SITE ROLE, LOCAL)

Pay Range:  65-70 W2

What's the Job?

• Develop and optimize enterprise threat detection capabilities across security monitoring platforms.
• Create advanced detection logic, threat hunting strategies, and incident identification procedures.
• Collaborate with SOC, cyber defense, and threat intelligence teams to improve detection coverage and reduce organizational cyber risk.
• Investigate emerging threats and map detections to the MITRE ATT&CK framework.
• Support detection strategies for cloud, endpoint, and network environments, including building automated response workflows and security analytics dashboards.

What's Needed?

• 7+ years of cybersecurity and security operations experience.
• Hands-on experience with SIEM tools such as Splunk, Sentinel, QRadar, or similar platforms.
• Proficiency in building detection content and threat-hunting methodologies.
• Familiarity with cloud security, EDR technologies, and the MITRE ATT&CK framework.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
