Quality Engineering Automation Lead

Our client, a leading organization in the technology and financial services sector, is seeking a dedicated and innovative Quality Engineering Automation Lead to join their dynamic team. As a Quality Engineering Automation Lead, you will be an integral part of the Quality Assurance department supporting multiple project teams. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership, analytical thinking, and a proactive approach to automation excellence, aligning seamlessly with the organization’s commitment to quality and continuous improvement.

Job Title: Quality Engineering Automation Lead

What's the Job?

• Design and own the Quality Engineering (QE) framework across various units, including API, UI, and data layers, ensuring comprehensive test coverage and efficiency.
• Establish and measure automation baselines, including coverage, suite runtimes, pass rates, and flake rates, to set realistic and impactful targets.
• Create a robust framework capable of rapid security fixes, fast verification cycles, reliable smoke gates, and seamless CI/CD integration, providing quick and trustworthy feedback.
• Define and report on coverage and quality metrics, demonstrating value and guiding tooling and process improvements.
• Lead technical discussions on automation design, partner with development teams to promote testing early in the development cycle, and influence best practices across teams.

What's Needed?

• Minimum of 8 years of experience in QA and QA engineering, with at least 3 years designing and owning automation frameworks from scratch.
• Deep hands-on expertise in modern automation stacks such as MABL, Playwright, Selenium, Java, and Python.
• Strong experience in API and service layer test automation, including contract and integration testing.
• Proficiency in CI/CD pipeline integration, including pipeline gating, parallel execution, containerized test runs, and report publishing.
• Proven track record of reducing flakiness through root cause analysis, synchronization strategies, and measurement of improvements.
