Analytics Consultant IV - Data Quality & Financial Crimes Analytics
Location: Hybrid (Charlotte, NC Preferred but open to Minneapolis, Irving, West Des Moines, Tempe)
Duration: 12+ Contract

Our client is seeking an experienced Analytics Consultant to support a Financial Crimes Analytics and Monitoring team within a large financial institution. This role combines deep analytical expertise with strong business-facing communication skills to drive data quality, data profiling, and model support initiatives across enterprise banking data sources.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience working with large, complex datasets from financial services environments. This individual will partner closely with model owners, risk teams, compliance stakeholders, and technology partners to ensure data integrity, support model performance, and provide meaningful analysis and documentation.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform extensive data profiling, data quality assessments, and data analysis across multiple banking source systems.
- Analyze large-scale financial datasets to identify trends, anomalies, data gaps, and opportunities for improvement.
- Evaluate data sources supporting AML, Financial Crimes, and risk monitoring models.
- Create detailed documentation, reporting, and analysis summaries for model governance and audit purposes.
- Present findings, recommendations, and data quality observations to model owners and senior stakeholders.
- Collaborate with business, risk, compliance, and technology teams to resolve data issues and improve model effectiveness.
- Track project deliverables, issues, and enhancements through JIRA.
- Support model validation, implementation, monitoring, and enhancement initiatives.
- Ensure data inputs and outputs meet regulatory, business, and governance requirements.
- Assist with root cause analysis and remediation of data quality issues impacting model performance.
Required Qualifications
- 5-7+ years of experience in analytics, data analysis, model development, model support, or risk analytics within financial services.
- Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Economics, or another quantitative discipline.

- Experience working with large, complex datasets within banking or financial services environments.
- Experience analyzing data from banking source systems such as:
- Loans
- Credit Cards
- Brokerage
- Customer Information Systems
- Financial Transactions
- Ability to create detailed business and technical documentation.
- Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to present findings to model owners, risk partners, and senior leadership.
- Experience tracking work and managing deliverables using JIRA.
- Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Proficiency in SQL and Python.
Preferred Qualifications
- Financial Crimes, AML, Fraud, or Risk Management experience.
- Experience supporting AML transaction monitoring models.
- Knowledge of BSA, USA PATRIOT Act, and AML regulatory requirements.
- Experience working as a model owner, model developer, or model support analyst.
- Familiarity with big data technologies and large-scale data environments.
- Experience with Oracle platforms and related database technologies.
- Advanced degree in a quantitative discipline.
