Responsibilities:
• Consult on or participate in moderately complex initiatives and deliverables within Financial Crimes and contribute to large-scale planning related to Financial Crimes deliverables.
• Review and analyze moderately complex Financial Crimes challenges that require an in-depth evaluation of variable factors.
• Contribute to the resolution of moderately complex issues and consult with others to meet Financial Crimes deliverables while leveraging solid understanding of the function, policies, procedures, and compliance requirements.
• Collaborate with Wells Fargo personnel in Financial Crimes.
Required Qualifications:
• 4+ years of Financial Crimes, Operational Risk, Fraud, Sanctions, Anti-Bribery, Corruption experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education.
• Lead the periodic review process by drafting relationship memos, facilitating compliance calls, analyzing transaction activities, and researching and escalating higher risk issues for correspondent payment and clearing customers.
• Evaluate the strength of financial institution client AML/CFT and sanctions compliance programs through analysis of control environments and institutional risk appetite.
• Proactively identify risk issues and work with relationship managers and senior risk officers to develop, document, and implement action plans.
• Stay attuned to industry and regional trends related to compliance issues, financial crimes, and regulatory actions.
• Ensure complete, accurate, and timely documentation of customer data within the customer risk management system.
• Support the bank’s efforts to combat cyber-crime and related fraud typologies.
• Support the focus of building strong customer relationships balanced with a strong risk mitigating and compliance-driven culture which firmly establishes those disciplines as critical to the success of Financial Institution Group’s customers and Wells Fargo.
Job Expectations:
• This position is not eligible for Visa sponsorship.
• Potential of travel up to 10% of the time.
• This position is subject to FINRA background screening requirements. Candidates must successfully complete and pass a background check prior to hire. In accordance with FINRA rules, individuals who are subject to statutory disqualification are not eligible to be associated with a FINRA-registered broker-dealer. Successful candidates must also meet and comply with ongoing regulatory obligations, which include periodic screening and mandatory reporting of certain incidents.
Additional Desired Qualifications:
• AML/Financial crimes background and/or experience with correspondent banking.
• Experience supporting customer due diligence.
• Knowledge and understanding of the FFIEC Exam Manual, CAMS certification, or other financial crimes certifications.
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
• Experience in managing AML/CFT risk.
• Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.
• Knowledge of crypto-related AML and financial crimes typologies.
• Experience with Microsoft Office, SharePoint, and other applications.
